Our client is looking to recruit multiple teams of experienced Cable & Sub-Duct Engineers in two-man teams for a £230million contract covering sites across Northern Ireland (the hub will be based in County Armagh / Belfast). This is an exciting opportunity to have ongoing contract work for the next 2 years.

Work Description

  • This work is to lay cable in the existing BT (duct) network. Which in turn will lead to the full build which will require the installation of fibre optic cable.


Our client will provide:

  • Vehicle (1 van per team of two for business use only and two vans per 3-man teams)

  • Fuel card

  • Tools

  • Equipment (iPad for the schedule of works)

  • Uniforms (PPE)

  • Chapter 8 for each team. Note:This will be managed by a Supervisor / Project Manager - whichever engineer keeps the van, they must be able to provide secure parking/garage.

  • BT craft and safety training will be arranged according to the individual qualifications.

  • Rules around Safety & Quality will apply to all staff.


Requirements:

  • All prospective candidates are required to be vetted by our client and will require a client induction prior to commencing work on the contract.

  • BT craft and safety training will be arranged according to the individual qualifications. 

  • Ideally, our client is looking for cable teams who are experienced on the BT network who can cover both disciplines i.e., Sub-Duct and the Installation of fibre cable.


The Mandatory Requirements are as follows:

  • Hold a valid NRSWA Street Works operative license unit 2.

  • Basic CRB check less than 3 months old.

  • First Aid.

  • General Ops 1&2.

  • CSCS (EUSR Telecoms or equivalent).

  • NOPS Registration.

  • Confines spaces (medium risk).

  • Experienced in TRR and fibre installation.

  • Full right to work in UK unrestricted.

  • Full Driving License.
