Fibre Planner
West Sussex
Salary: £ 25,000 - £35,000 (depending on experience and qualifications)
This role requires you to be part of a team responsible for the surveying and planning of new fiberoptic and CATV access / core networks which are cost effective and fit for purpose, to precise client specifications and timescales.
Responsibilities:
To design suitable civils and network infrastructure which are cost-effective, fit-for-purpose and, future-proof
To produce detailed industry-standard documentation of that design
To work in tandem with the Drawing Office to ensure that accurate ‘as-built’ documentation is recorded and provided to client specifications
To help develop, implement, and champion the company's network design topologies
To interface with our internal and external customers and suppliers ensuring consistent quality of service
Actively gather detailed feedback from internal and external customers
Maintain all technical and operational documentation in accordance with processes and procedures
Conduct peer-review QC within the planning team to ensure quality and design standards are maintained
Ensure accidents, incidents, near misses and quality failures are reported to you line Manager
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Experience working in a Network Planning environment
Knowledge of Broadband Networks and Digital TV Technology
Knowledge and understanding of fibreoptic and CATV Network architecture
Knowledge of PIA (Physical Infrastructure Access) Network design and documentation
Ability to produce detailed industry standard level of onsite survey, planning proposals and as-built documentation
Full understanding of Local and National Authority regulations in respect to civil engineering works
Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
A desire to learn new skills and methods
Full clean UK driving licence
