Location:Somerset
Salary: £43,000 - £48,000 depending on experience and qualifications
Flexible Working: Any 2-3 days in the office each week

Our client is a well-established multinational managed service solutions provider for telecoms operators and OEMs. Their principal solutions are in the provision of solutions and resources in telecoms, power transmission and distribution, renewable energy, and tower infrastructure.

The Role

  • As Project Manager across all projects, you will be responsible for supporting Account Operations Managers with project and resource planning to ensure the successful delivery of their projects on time and on budget. 

  • The role of the Project Manager will involve working closely with the client on a day to day basis ensuring all project delivery milestones are reached.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily support for account managers across all projects

  • Work closely with the account managers on project and resource planning

  • Regular interaction with the client to ensure successful delivery of each project

  • Attend all client meetings and manage their expectations

  • Build and develop existing and new client relationships

  • Provide regular updates on project progress to Head of operations and Managing Director

  • Complete weekly account reports for both the Managing Director and the client

  • Liaise closely with the design department on design outputs

  • Lead and manage the design aspects with the client

  • Ensure a consistent approach is adopted in delivering programs to the customer

  • Liaise closely with commercial department on all invoicing and payment terms and conditions

  • Liaise with other departments, the client representatives & other stakeholders as necessary

  • Uphold company policies & procedures within the working environment

  • Ensure first time right on all projects

  • Day to day task management of the survey and installation teams delivering FTTH / FTTP projects

  • Health and Safety management of the teams, which may include oversight of 3rd parties where necessary

  • Working closely with the operations team and planning effectively to ensure deadlines are met

  • Responsibility for the delivery of business plan targets set at an individual level

  • Maximize the efficiency of the delivery teams

  • Liaising with 3rd Parties for civils, traffic management, and other PIA related activities

  • Accurate and timely reporting to ensure all records are kept up to date

  • Contributing to the continuous improvement approach adopted by the company

  • Working collaboratively with all stakeholders, at all levels within the organisation, to achieve a mutual understanding of the scope of projects.

  • Work with your team to identify and schedule all the work needed to fulfil the scope, helping to maintain an in-depth project plan to keep track of progress.

  • Plan all projects in detail to ensure the identification of cross-portfolio dependencies and understanding of critical paths and key milestones.

  • Ensure all resources are identified so that the project budget will remain affordable and is accurate.

  • Ensure all relevant cross-functional resources are identified and ensure that all parties understand their roles and responsibilities.

  • Provide day-to-day management for the project – cost, time, and quality

  • Ensure there are robust processes in place for issue and risk management instigating mitigation actions and identifying contingency plans to keep the project on track.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all key stakeholders.

  • Ensure effective communication is maintained throughout the project.

  • Ensure effective management of third-party suppliers to the project(s).

  • Using appropriate systems, techniques, and tools to establish and manage an effective project reporting structure.


Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Experience with different project management frameworks e.g. waterfall/agile.

  • Proven experience in the delivery of FTTP/FTTH including civils activities, PIA and JU infrastructure and processes (eg A55s, wayleaves, street works)

  • Well-developed organisational and planning skills including schedule and scope management.

  • Risk and Issue Management experience.

  • Change control experience

  • Experience in finance and cost control management

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong negotiation skills.

  • High-level of IT literacy, proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools and MS Project.


Desirable:

  • Professional qualification in project management, such as APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or another recognised qualification (e.g. Prince2 or PMP)

  • Experience of P6 planning

  • Fibre management/design tools (e.g. QGIS, Vetro)
